Skills & Experience
You are a kind, patient, approachable and highly motivated leader with extensive experience in the residential property management industry at a leadership level.
You have experience directly managing, mentoring, and coaching employees, with professional training in the industry.
Ideally you will have property management certifications with a university degree in Business Administration or a relevant field of study being an asset.
You feel comfortable dealing with different data points and financial statements and are able to analyze them and make sound strategic decisions.
You have experience setting and managing to targets and goals and have proven success meeting and exceeding these.
Confident but humble, empathetic yet assertive, diplomatic but express opinions. In essence, you will need to be a collaborative team player who brings a mature confidence and fairness to your role.
Summary of the Role
As the Vice President of Residential Management, you will lead a team of over seventy staff with four direct reports and oversee the day-to-day operations of a large residential portfolio across Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston. You will positively impact the day-to-day operations and be responsible for everything from compliance, operational efficiency, team management, financial performance management and relationship management.
The standard operating processes and procedures are in place and everyone works collaboratively and efficiently. You will be responsible for ensuring this continues, while looking for areas of continuous improvement. You need to plan and direct all annual targets for direct and indirect reports and identify any areas of course correction during the year. You will bring strong financial acumen as you will monitor and drive the financial performance of the properties in the portfolio. People management is an important part of this role and as such, you will be responsible for the training and development of your team, while also ensuring they are performing in their roles. You will bring strong relationship building skills as you will lead the interactions with other internal departments and build connections with external service providers.
As a Vice-President, you are an active member of the senior executive team. Not only will you focus on strategic planning and goal setting for the property management department, you will also ensure the overall operations are in line with corporate goals. Your main objective is to ensure your portfolio is performing and residents and employees are happy.
