Summary of the Role

The three areas of focus for this role will be the repositioning of the community, driving operational performance and continuing the improvement of the resident experience with a clear focus on customer service, the customer journey and engagement. Reporting to the President, the Vice-President of Operations is responsible for all aspects of the day to day operations for Ferguslea Properties. With oversight of around 70% of the employee base, you will coach, mentor and guide the managers of the building services and maintenance departments to drive behavioural changes and proactively respond to the needs of the residents and the community. With technical services, capital projects, major repairs, sustainability initiatives, suite turnovers and daily building maintenance falling under the remit of the VP, Operations, this position will directly impact both current business and future initiatives for Ferguslea Properties. Working closely with your team and other members of the leadership group, you will bring ideas, strategies and insight that will support the organization’s capabilities to deliver an exceptional experience, superior service and a top quality product to residents.

This is an influential leadership role, requiring you to compile and evaluate strategies with the ownership, advisory group and other members of the leadership team. Working as a team, you will debate, discuss and evaluate opportunities and strategies that you will then operationalize and execute on a daily basis. You will lead the way in actioning the vision of the owner and support your peers and team members through your active involvement in day to day operations. You will need to bring a balanced approach to the role, having the ability to work both on the business at a strategic level, and in the business to help support the growth and development of the operations. You will be required to bring a people focused approach to implementing new processes and procedures, supporting your team with measured, repeatable and client focused approaches that will result in their success and improvements within the operations team. You will bring new and innovative ideas while demonstrating an ability to be patient in the execution of change with incremental improvements and positive outcomes.

As one of the leaders at Accora Village, you will be actively involved in community planning and will need to be up to date on industry trends in order to advise ownership and your peers on key priorities and actions that would work best for the community and residents. You will create and implement efficiencies and elevate the existing service culture through the implementation of a performance framework and bring a sense of accountability that is focused on a positive experience for residents and success for your team members. You will need to achieve progress and improvements while not losing sight of the focus on the people and the care factor that has set Ferguslea Properties apart from others in the industry. As the VP, Operations, you will closely monitor the progress of key priorities in order to proactively predict and resolve issues before they happen and to successfully deliver set goals and results. You will be creative in your approach and understand that patience is required for long term gain as you seek to enhance the resident experience.
