With a shift from being a residential focused organization to a contractor that predominantly focuses on commercial projects, ClimateWorks is running at a pace neither founder would have imagined when they set out on this journey. As they look to expand into new markets, fulfill the ongoing demand of projects and develop streamlined internal processes, a General Manager is required to join and lead the team during this exciting journey of growth.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience generating profitability and growth for a multi-million dollar company in the construction trades industry.
Motivated to maintain your tightknit connections within the construction industry, particularly with local PMs, GCs and tradespeople.
Creating Structure & Process
Create efficiencies to drive productivity within the team, predictability in the sales pipeline and a clear internal reporting structure.
You have built, led and managed teams that are delivering superior customer experience for commercial projects.
Summary of the Role
As the right hand to the President, you will oversee operations and business development, and work towards building a sustainable and scalable structure for the organization. ClimateWorks’ General Manager will be a central figure in the business, as the company works to shift its internal reporting structure to alleviate pressure on the leadership team, as well as improve efficiencies within the business. As General Manager, you will rely on your leadership skills and superior business acumen to create new strategies to ultimately strengthen internal processes, systems, and overall operations within the company. It is also highly critical in this role that you prioritize being actively present in the marketplace at networking activities to build on your established network of strong contacts within the construction industry to maintain ClimateWorks positive reputation and ongoing successes.
You will be involved with the day-to-day operations, part of the full-cycle client experience and a fundamental team leader for the business. You will be the first point of contact for all internal employees within the HVAC and duct cleaning, plumbing, accounting and finance, project management, estimating, project management and coordination, and procurement departments, as well as for any external stakeholders. The General Manager will be the go-to person to provide any guidance or resolve conflict for both internal and external groups.
This is a newly-created role, and will initially begin with you taking steps to thoroughly understand the business, followed by the creation, implementation and oversight of a strategic three-year business plan for growth. You will take a tactful and deliberate approach upon entering this role with the goal in mind of nurturing what works within the business and building upon success from there.
