Summary of the Role
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the ChiefFinancial Officer assumes responsibility for the company’s financial stewardship. Their primary role involves ensuring consistent excellence in financial management, planning, risk management, and internal controls.
The CFO plays a vital role in establishing clear fiscal priorities for all areas of the business and will collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and implement the finance strategy, ensuring the alignment of finance strategic and operational goals, policies, and action plans with the overall business objectives. The CFO conducts comprehensive and actionable analysis of financial performance, trends, and long-term forecasts. They provide decision makers with timely and accurate forecasts, reports, and analytics that support informed business decisions. This includes the creation of real-time business decision-making dashboards with performance indicators.
The CFO is responsible for delivering timely and accurate reporting on various financial aspects, including Profit and Loss (P&L) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budget reporting, bookings and revenue forecasts, margin analysis, contribution by region and product line, as well as managing cashflow and reporting on capital spend. The CFO will establish and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with applicable financial and tax reporting laws and regulations. With a focus on risk management, the CFO provides accurate information with appropriate controls throughout the organization, mitigating potential risks, including foreign exchange exposures and fostering a culture of financial prudence.
By comprehending industry dynamics, analyzing critical business information, and evaluating global market conditions, the CFO will provide guidance to the corporation in formulating robust operational plans and establishing a solid infrastructure to facilitate international business growth and scalability.The CFO will also develop an integrated approach to financial-sales forecasting and reporting, enabling the provision of timely insights into corporate performance and our market growth objectives.Developing relationships with investment, funding, and financing institutions is another critical aspect of the CFO’s role. By leveraging these relationships strategically, the CFO supports financing strategies and capitalizes on opportunities to optimize financial resources.
