Skills & Experience

Background

You have run a digital subscription service, have managed the behind the paywall engagement of customers, and have found unique and creative ways of making the access engaging

Experience

10+ years of relevant experience including proven success in driving e-commerce sales through innovative, and cost-efficient strategies, and ideally you have 4 years within a marketing environment

Education

E-Commerce, HCI, Digital Marketing or a related field

Expert Level Experience

Google Analytics or Adobe Site Catalyst is a must-have

Technical Digital Background

hands-on experience leading digital commerce solutions and designs that provide excellence in the digital customer experience with online sales flows

Marketing Systems Experience

Marketo and marketing clouds, such as, IBM, Adobe, Google, Oracle, etc. and you have a strong understanding of Microsoft CRM and sales enablement tools

Summary of the Role

As Director of E-Commerce, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of e-commerce capabilities and strategic growth initiatives for The Conference Board of Canada.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, you will work closely with your e-commerce team, currently four, to design, deliver, and continually evolve a world-class digital experience. As the organization continues to expand, you will also develop plans to scale the team, specifically determining key roles, capabilities, and establishing optimal team size.

With your proven track record of accelerating e-commerce sales across both B2B and B2C markets, an entrepreneurial and collaborative blend of strategic and tactical approaches will be crucial to achieving the organization’s e-commerce objectives. With an annual e-commerce plan focusing on strategy, pricing, promotion, content, and operational requirements, you are expected to deliver on The Conference Board of Canada’s integrated communications, customer, and overall revenue targets.

The role will require you to oversee the operations, user experience, and growth of a $6M digital subscription business, as you build upon an existing foundation and put forth your own ideas to further expand on the organization’s successes. You will consistently manage the preparation, revision, and maintenance of technical documentation, including systems overview, testing, and user documentation. With your breadth of web governance experience, you will develop, deliver, and optimize landing pages, Browse, Search, and checkout capabilities, ensuring the highest level of web application security and compliance.

You will also be collaborating with Senior Marketing and Sales Leadership on new features, functionality, and content that will be incorporated into the company’s integrated growth strategy. Working with these other departmental leaders, you will establish KPIs and metrics that align with the online strategies and tactics that have been implemented, which other divisions of the organization will also be able to leverage. Looking into rapid and cost-effective development and deployment strategies with the IT team, including agile methodologies, you will ensure that near and long-term revenue growth objectives align with what you are aiming to implement and execute on.
