Skills & Experience

Industry Experience

You have a diverse range of executive management experience in business operations. It is an asset to come with a proven track record in the construction, development and/or project management industries, but most critical that you have a passion for the real estate industry.

Operations & Strategic Planning

You have a proven ability to streamline and implement processes and procedures to maximize efficiency. You are also able to prioritize and organize competing key business objectives to be operationalized while participating in the analysis, evaluation and planning of new business opportunities.

Leadership & Collaboration

You are a leader that brings everyone together under a common and focused vision - ensuring that each member of your team understands and is recognized for their valuable contribution. You believe a familial corporate culture is critical to maintain.

Financial Management & Analytical

You get a thrill out of creating efficiencies, especially when it comes to creating predictability in project pipelines, forecasting, budgeting and a clear internal reporting structure.

Summary of the Role

As VP of Operations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day business operations, evaluating current systems and processes, while supporting the strategic vision and growth initiatives of the organization. Reporting directly to the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, you will take ownership of the Design and Development, Construction and Property Management and Leasing divisions within Smart Living Properties. You will develop and track business and project metrics while optimizing and standardizing processes and workflows. Once you have established a deep understanding of the organization and its stakeholders, you will begin to bring forward ideas, strategies and insight that will support Smart Living’s growth as you bring them closer to operational excellence. Understanding the wins and challenges of the current team will help you narrow down focus areas where productivity and effectiveness can be optimized.

The role will require you to be extremely process oriented and operationally minded by nature in the areas of property management & planning, operations, project management, financial management, and general HR practices as Smart Living Properties continues its expansion. You will look to prioritize and plan key action areas to be operationalized, utilizing your strong analytical skills to evaluate and implement streamlined and automated business processes. You will also support and participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities as you work towards setting and achieving goals that have been well calculated. With these goals in mind, you will manage the organization’s internal systems, so that significant data and important milestones can be consistently recorded and measured for business growth and expansion forecasting.

As Smart Living Properties continues to expand, you will be able to leverage your experience and knowledge to scale up the business, meet and exceed objectives and drive the organization’s overall growth goals. With little oversight, you will assess, adjust, and implement best practices ensuring a streamlined approach to all projects and properties.
