Position: Product Marketing Manager

Skills & Experience
Experience inside of an IoT based business or have a deep understanding of the industry and its place in the North American market
You have worked with multiple stakeholders and teams simultaneously to advance projects and execute on strategic initiatives
Developing customer-facing marketing campaigns, messaging, and market positioning across multiple mediums, you are keen to expand your skill set to encompass multiple products and markets that serve global markets
Strong Communication & Writer
Ability to produce top notch content for a variety of products including product brochures, presentations, training materials, marketing collateral, customer newsletters, whitepapers, case studies, articles, and more
Summary of the Role
The marketing team at ORBCOMM delivers world-class and effective marketing campaigns that inspire their customers to hear about, learn more, engage, trial, and buy their solutions. The Product Marketing Manager will work in the product marketing group within the marketing team and reports to the Senior Director of Product Marketing. The role interacts with others in the Marketing, Sales and Product Management teams, with an overall focus on promoting the numerous solutions that ORBCOMM offers.
You will be responsible for defining go-to-market initiatives for a product portfolio. With this, you would conduct market and customer analysis to cultivate strategic, insight-driven marketing strategy recommendations, and in doing so, develop a deep understanding of customer needs, ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, the competitive landscape, and overall industry trends. In applying this knowledge to ORBCOMM’s positioning, messaging and sales materials, you will be in a strong position to suggest innovative go-to-market strategies and create campaign plans that clearly articulate the “how”, including but not limited to: goals, objectives, strategy, target audience, and timeline. With a deep knowledge of the ORBCOMM technology, the Product Marketing Manager will become the marketing subject matter expert to position products and solutions in the market generating strategic marketing plans, content and programs for the company’s global client base.
ORBCOMM is looking to expand beyond existing customer segments for growth. They have initiatives to target these new segments with SaaS based pricing, new product bundles and new sales channels to support. They have existing direct and indirect channels to market but are eager to develop new ways to bring their products forward and develop new channels for those products. In addition, they have a focus on growing closer, direct relationships with existing customers and improve cross-selling of solutions.
Product Marketing in ORBCOMM works cross-collaboratively with teams across the organization to reach more customers, drive product launches, understand market and customer pain points. It needs to create the narratives, storylines, and materials to help prospects understand the impact ORBCOMM can have on their business. Some of the key groups you will be integrated with include Product Management, Sales, Product Development, and Customer Care. This will assist in your ability to translate strategic objectives into geo-specific, market-specific and compelling customer and partner facing campaigns, as well as to support online and physical events around the world.
