Summary of the Role
Reporting to the President of the Foundation, the Vice President, Philanthropy (“VP”) will play a pivotal role in advancing the Foundation’s mission and objectives. As the VP, you will be a vital leader within the Foundation team who will actively engage in fundraising efforts, set the pace and exemplify best practices for the Philanthropy team. You will uphold a commitment to championing the Foundation’s purpose, foster a sense of community, raise mental health awareness, and inspire philanthropic support, ultimately profoundly impacting The Royal and individuals affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.
You will orchestrate comprehensive fundraising strategies to inspire philanthropic support and ensure an exceptional experience for donors and stakeholders. You will oversee and actively engage in fundraising efforts focused on major giving, leadership giving, planned giving and annual giving. You will ensure the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with diverse donor communities. Through the creation and implementation of engaging fundraising appeals and strategies, you will drive growth and support for the Foundation’s vital work.
As a key member of the Foundation’s leadership team, you will actively participate in the development and execution of the organization’s strategic and operating plans. In close partnership with the President, you will lead the curation, understanding, and establishment of philanthropic fundraising priorities for the hospital and research institute and will collaborate closely with your peers at the executive leadership table to ensure these priorities align with the overall strategic plan and campaign goals.
Stakeholder engagement will be a focal part of your role. It will be a critical responsibility for you to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, prospects, volunteers, vendors and board members who will contribute to the Foundation’s mission and enhance its reputation. You will lead the recruitment, engagement and performance of the Campaign Cabinet in addition to other volunteer fundraising committees to enable the advancement of the Foundation’s philanthropic priorities. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with other internal departments within the Foundation, hospital and research institute to ensure the effective coordination of fundraising priorities and that the progress toward fundraising goals is being transparently conveyed.
