You will be responsible for leading all sales and marketing activities within the company, a role currently undertaken directly by the CEO.

Stilo International is a leading developer of web-based XML document conversion and authoring tools used by large organizations to publish technical documentation. A small, specialist company, with offices in the UK and Canada, they support bluechip customers around the world, across a wide-range of industry sectors. Their tools help organizations to automate the conversion of content to XML, to author new content in XML format, and to build XML content processing components integral to enterprise-level publishing solutions. They are now looking to add an experienced, results-driven, business development professional to work alongside a highly-respected technical team, reporting directly to the CEO.
Skills & Experience
B2B sales experience
Minimum of 10 years of proven success in B2B sales
Experience leading a high performing team
Essential to have an entrepreneurial outlook to new business development
Implement sales and marketing strategies to generate leads and demos
Experience working with XML
Able to research, identify and generate new opportunities
Summary of the Role
While your role will be focused primarily on selling the various products that Stilo offers, it will also be quite multifaceted in nature, leveraging your enthusiasm and drive to succeed in sales, while balancing your time with spearheading new sales and marketing strategies. The position will also oversee a staff of two Account Managers and a Marketing Manager. In addition to prioritizing the retention and growth of existing accounts, you will utilize your business development skills and capture new accounts while looking for opportunities to cross-sell into the existing accounts.
You will forecast and track key account metrics for the team and will continuously strive to grow new sales to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets. All of this while providing unmatched customer experience that promotes long-term client engagement. While the position is Ottawa-based with limited travel there will be a handful of conferences and trade shows each year located around North America and Europe where you will be expected to lead marketing efforts.
The role requires a proactive sales approach with customers and partners, based upon a solid technical foundation and will involve presentations at conferences, the delivery of webinar programs, and the use of social media. The majority of new business comes from companies located in the USA, and is generally transacted over the internet, making widespread use of web-conferencing software.
