Summary of the Role
Reporting to Alex Mazerolle, President and Founder of Archer Precision, the Production Manager’s primary responsibility lies in maintaining overall flow of work throughout the shop floor. In other words, after the front-end of a new job is settled, and the Engineering Manager has developed the complete engineering strategy, your role as Production Manager will be to drive the execution of the strategy through timely completion of the projects. You will take everything that he has provided from a technical perspective and begin the process of scheduling, through to running it. Throughout the process, you will closely monitor all stages of production, supporting your manufacturing team with anything that they need to get the job up and running, and continuously look for opportunities to increase production efficiency. You will assist in any basic troubleshooting that is required, and often collaborate with other Managers to address any highly technical issues.
Archer is a fully paperless company. You will be able to monitor your process through an ERP system which will afford you the ability to organize all your work in one program. The sizes and scope of your projects will vary quite significantly.
This is a leadership role where you will be managing and mentoring a team of ten employees on the floor, including both general laborers and machinists. Your team will act as a key resource to you, and in turn your role is to assist in developing the young talent on the floor so that they can continuously improve in their delivery, and ultimately grow within the company.
