Position: Manager, Finance Business Systems & FPA

Established in 1956, Central Precast Inc. began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility grew to include landscape, utility products, manholes, concrete poles, steps, barriers and architectural panels. Throughout the years, as their product line expanded, new companies were formed to focus on their specific industries and ultimately The Precast Group was formed. Central Precast is centrally located in Ottawa, where it has a 55,000 square foot, CSA certified production facility. This plant includes fully automated batching systems, casting beds for architectural and prestressed panels which are used in high rise, warehouse, and box store applications.

Skills & Experience

Experience

5+ years of progressive experience post-designation. Your time management and administration skills are at a superior level which allow you to achieve results despite a workload that is frequently evolving.

Communication & Leadership

You have progressive experience in supervising small teams that is complemented by a genuine passion for mentorship. While not mandatory, it will be beneficial if you are comfortable in both official languages.

Background

You are a collaborative, analytical and nimble finance professional that thrives working in a well- established, entrepreneurial environment.

Business Systems

You have in depth knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, are well versed in ERPs and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Dynamics 365 would be considered an asset.

Summary of the Role

Reporting into the CFO and taking the lead from the Corporate Controller, the Manager Finance, Business Systems and FPA is an integral member of the Finance team and will serve as a subject matter expert with respect to financial systems, processes and rules. In conjunction with the Corporate Controller, the Manager will be responsible for supporting the Corporation’s Finance department through the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Corporation’s financial systems. As the Manager, you will help to ensure accurate financial data and the timeliness of accounting cycles by assisting with complex data queries, reporting, and troubleshooting financial data issues.

You will have a clear focus on producing thorough, comprehensive, and timely financial-status reports for senior management in both a routine and ad hoc manner to help improve the overall operational efficiency and support the accuracy of both corporation’s general ledger. You will play a significant role in corporate projects, providing expertise on financial aspects of systems processes and internal controls, while continuously building efficiencies including assisting with the ongoing implementation of the organization’s new ERP system.

With the inclination to always be a step ahead, you will lead the budgeting, reporting and forecasting processes including short and medium-term cash flow modeling and work to identify potential risks. You will help to create a more structured and standardized approach to financial reporting and analysis and a key element of this structure will be your contribution to the creation of industry relevant financial KPIs and dashboards.
