Today, InterRent REIT is a growth-oriented real estate investment trust engaged in increasing Unitholder value through the acquisition, ownership, management and repositioning of strategically located, income producing, multi-residential properties. InterRent REIT’s largest and most consistent source of income is its rental operations within high-growth urban markets. InterRent REIT manages a portfolio of over 94 multi-family residential properties representing almost 12,000 rental units in over 20 cities throughout Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. The company consistently generates revenues, cash flows and earnings from rental operations that on a per suite basis are in the upper tier of the multi-family asset class.

Technical Background

You are a designated financial leader with 7+ years of progressive experience

Role Experience

Advanced accounting and financial reporting knowledge, backed by an expertise in budgeting, forecasting and modeling

Public Accounting Experience

You worked with public clients and/or experience working within various public companies, and ideally have had exposure to the real estate industry

Traits

Strong Assets

Experience with Canadian real estate tax and working with Yardi

Summary of the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Reporting will be responsible for financial planning and reporting.

As the Director of Financial Planning and Reporting, you will work independently and also closely with the Accounting and Finance, Investor Relations and Operations teams in order to review, analyze and report on the impact of changes in financial reporting requirements, prepare and analyze performance related to budgets and prior reporting periods. You will take ownership of the reporting and management of internal controls and procedures around financial reporting. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure the completion of timely and accurate reporting and strategic analysis of financial data which will allow for the senior leadership team to make well-informed decisions regarding future ventures and growth. Additionally, you will play a key role in the structural refining and enhancement of reporting documents that are presented to the senior leadership team and to the public at large.

As you gain further expertise in your primary technical area of financial reporting, planning and analysis, you will be provided with the opportunity to expand your experience in other areas through a rotational leadership program. In unison with your peers in the Finance team, your hands will be in the pot of many vertices, affording you the opportunity to rotate into other financial areas in order to gain more company and industry knowledge. In time, you will be exposed to the management of all aspects of property accounting, tax planning, mortgage lending and credit facility management. Your role will be fast-paced, complex and challenging in nature and will call on your ability to pivot between multiple tasks on a routine basis.
