They provide day-to-day property management and asset management services for approximately 10,000 apartment units in Canada and the United States. In addition to their property management activities, Osgoode Properties has also seen substantial success through acquisitions, financing and disposition of apartment communities. Through Island Park Ventures, the Greenberg family invests in land and passive real estate developments, venture capital and private equity deals, and publicly traded stocks, hedge funds and other limited partnerships.

Experience & Bilingualism

You are a bilingual human resources leader with generalist experience and direct exposure to employee supervision, mentorship and coaching.

Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring legal compliance and overseeing the maintenance of workforce planning, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, health and safety, employee engagement, performance management, professional development, policy, and coaching to help influence and execute business objectives across its locations in Ontario, Québec, and Alberta.

Building on the strong foundation that already exists, you will work closely with the executive leadership team to discuss and provide strategic recommendations on how to progress and enhance the people and culture at Osgoode Properties. As a proactive, energetic and hands-on leader, you will utilize your expertise to execute the strategy of the human resources department, mitigating HR and employee relations issues as they arise. You will use your in-depth knowledge of human resources to effectively support, guide and mentor your team, and other managers and employees across the organization. Through your approachable leadership style, you will create a safe and open environment where employees can comfortably come to you for your counsel.

You will oversee and ensure appropriate policies, procedures and best practices are in place to drive high performance across the organization. You will continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the HR function and advocate for potential opportunities for enhancement. You will oversee the recruitment process to attract, screen, and validate qualified candidates for diverse positions and departments.
