Summary of the Role

Reporting directly to the President and working in conjunction with the vCFO, the Controller is an internal member of the Finance team that is responsible for undertaking all aspects of financial management for the organization. As the Controller, you will be a critical hands-on leader in corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of integral control policies and procedures.

You will have a clear focus on producing thorough, comprehensive and timely financial-status reports for senior management in both a routine and ad hoc manner to help improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth. You will plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions which include accounts receivable, accounts payable, job cost accounting, close-out processes, WSIB and payroll. You will analyze and manage Work-In-Progress reporting and perform margin analysis on projects for improved cost management and increased profitability, cash flow management and forecasting.

This is a leadership role, where you will be given the opportunity to lead a team in the finance department. You will balance your time effectively between working closely with the senior leadership team, completing your own deliverables, and providing mentorship and guidance to your team. Your role will be fast paced, challenging and complex in nature and will call on your ability to pivot between the diverse entities’ financials on a routine basis.
