Turk joins expert marketing roundtable at this year’s Ottawa Small Business Summit

Small Business Summit: Fueling Growth in the Nation’s Capital is the first-ever conference from the Ottawa Board of Trade and Ottawa Business Journal specifically targeted at small businesses with 5-25 employees. The event aims to inform and inspire small business owners and managers. The summit will be hosted from October 22-23 at The Westin Ottawa Hotel.

Turk joins expert marketers Erin Blaskie, Director of Marketing at L-Spark and Jamil Bhuya,Owner of Burgers n’ Fries Forever at the roundtable to discuss and answer questions on “marketing hacks to boost your brand”.

“Having grown up in a family business, and operating a small business for a decade, provides me the belief and confidence in Canadian small business – their ability to achieve growth, make an impact in our communities and be successful.” says Turk.

Turk was born into an entrepreneurial family as his mother and father have owned and operated Lorne’s Slinger Service in Peterborough, Ontario for over 30 years. Following in their parents footsteps, Kyle and his brother Josh Turk, co-founded a small business in Halifax, Nova Scotia called Faces Magazine in 2007 after graduating from their respective universities. They expanded the business to Ottawa, Ontario in 2010. After selling the business in 2014, Kyle joined the local workforce in Ottawa and now works at Keynote Group, a family business that supports small businesses in Canada with executive search and recruitment solutions. In addition he helps run the marketing for his wife’s small business Courtney Turk Interiors.
