The Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC) is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to supporting those with lived experience of sexual and gender-based violence. With a mission to empower individuals through direct services and advocacy, ORCC has been a steadfast source of support for over 40 years. The organization provides a range of essential services, including crisis intervention, counselling, service navigation, advocacy, and public education programs, all aimed at fostering healing and recovery.

ORCC’s vision is communities that are free of sexual and gender-based violence. To move towards this vision, ORCC’s mission encompasses counselling for those impacted directly by sexual and gender-based violence using a trauma informed and intersectional approach, while focused also on systemic change through education, policy and research. Summary of the Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC) through a time of continued evolution and growth.

As leader of the organization, your core responsibilities will span across program and operational management, financial oversight, and strategic development. You will work closely with a passionate and collaborative internal team to deliver essential services to survivors and promote education and prevention.

In this multifaceted role, you will oversee the execution of ORCC’s strategic plan’s final year, while partnering with the board to building a new one. Through this process, you will ensure alignment with community needs while fostering innovation and collaboration across all levels. Your leadership will be instrumental in engaging with key stakeholders, including funders, donors, government bodies, and community partners. Through thoughtful relationship-building and advocacy, you will work to secure multi-year funding, increase public awareness, and maintain the organization’s financial stability.

The upcoming 50th anniversary celebration in November will provide a unique opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and honour ORCC’s legacy while looking ahead to the future.

Finally, you will play a crucial part in executing established plans and developing new strategies for revenue diversification, measurement and evaluation of program success, and strengthening government relations. You will also be responsible for broadening the reach of the ORCC as it develops and implements new strategies to effectively serve marginalized groups within the community.
