Skills & Experience

Industry Experience

You have likely been inside of an IoT based business or have a deep understanding of the industry and its place in the North American market

Product Marketing Experience

Experience developing customer-facing marketing campaigns, messaging, and market positioning across multiple mediums

Relationship-Driven

Building new relationships is one of your strong suits from working with multiple stakeholders and teams simultaneously to advance projects and execute on strategic initiatives

Ideas

Skillful competitive intelligence gathering and a critical eye for industry trends as you will use your curiosity to generate new ideas for the team and company

Content Creation

Very strong communication and writing skills with the ability to produce top notch content for a variety of products including product brochures, presentations, training materials, marketing collateral, customer newsletters, whitepapers, case studies, articles, and more

Crafting Narratives

Possess the ability to craft and promulgate narratives about how a product or service can impact a customer

Summary of the Role

The Product Marketing team at ORBCOMM delivers world-class and effective marketing campaigns that inspire their customers to hear about, learn more, engage, trial, and buy their solutions.

As a senior member of the team, reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Product Marketing Manager will work in an integrated role with the marketing, sales, and product teams, with an overall focus on promoting the numerous solutions that ORBCOMM offers.

You will be responsible for defining go-to-market initiatives, including the priorities for growth, launch, most relevant channels to market, ideal customer segments, as well as key buyers and influencers. They have existing direct channels to market, but are eager to develop new ways to bring their products forward and expand within their existing market place. They will also be looking to develop new external channels for those products. With this, you would conduct market analysis to cultivate strategic, insight-driven marketing strategy recommendations, and in doing so, develop a deep understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape, and overall industry trends. The Product Marketing Manager will work with industry analysts to properly present the marketing messaging and communications.

In applying this knowledge to ORBCOMM’s positioning and sales materials, you will be in a strong position to suggest innovative go-to-market strategies and create campaign plans that clearly articulate the “how”, including but not limited to: goals, objectives, strategy, target audience, and timeline. With a deep knowledge of the ORBCOMM technology, the Product Marketing Manager will become the marketing subject matter expert to position products and solutions in the market generating strategic marketing plans, content and programs for the company’s global client base.

Product Marketing in ORBCOMM works cross-collaboratively with teams across the organization to reach more customers, drive product launches, understand market and customer pain points. It needs to create the narratives, storylines, and materials to help prospects understand the impact ORBCOMM can have on their business. Some of the key groups you will be integrated with include Product Management, Product Development, and Sales. This will assist in your ability to translate strategic objectives into geo-specific, market- specific and compelling customer and partner facing campaigns, as well as to support online and physical events around the world.
