Summary of the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the plant’s day-to-day manufacturing operations in the Kennebec County region. This crucial, hands-on leadership role focuses on ensuring efficient and smooth execution across various departments.
The core objective is to lead overall production and successfully meet targets as you maintain an outstanding level of safety, quality, cost, and timely delivery across the diverse product lines. Your role is integral to managing processes and implementing strategies specifically designed to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
As the Operations Manager, your role encompasses comprehensive management duties, including the supervision of employees across all production and operations departments; manufacturing, maintenance, production managers and quality assurance. Success in this capacity requires a dedicated focus on people leadership, leveraging your employees’ strengths and enthusiasm to create an efficient and positive working environment. Working closely with the Human Resources Department, you will actively participate in the hiring process, managing and overseeing training, and evaluating staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
Furthermore, your ability to collaborate with departments such as the Master Scheduler, Finance, Engineering, and Human Resources will be essential to streamline operations and achieve critical organizational goals. As part of the management team, you will participate in plans to align operational activities with the company’s long-term objectives and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
