Summary of the Role

The General Manager (GM) at Wolfenburg Roofing will report directly to a management company and a family board, playing a crucial role in steering this portfolio company towards its strategic goals. In this hands-on operational role, the GM will work closely with the Project Management, Estimating, Sales, and Installation teams, overseeing all facets of the business. You will be responsible for projects, client relationships, client acquisition, supplier relations, health and safety, compliance, quality management, and human resources. With the support of an accounting team and the backing of a proactive marketing and business development service, you will be expected to take qualified opportunities through to successful execution—delivering projects on time, within budget, all while exceeding customer expectations. During the initial months in assuming the position, you will provide weekly updates to the board to ensure alignment and swift decision-making, eventually transitioning to a monthly reporting cadence as operations stabilize. This adjustment is designed to optimize the board’s focus on broader commercial priorities.

You will oversee and provide management, oversight, and support to the project team, ensuring excellence in project execution. As Wolfenburg Roofing grows, you will be instrumental in establishing a solid organizational structure that includes department leads for administration, projects, estimating, and labor. Collaborating with the leadership team, you will develop a growth strategy and operational models to support geographic expansion. This includes crafting a detailed business plan with defined financial goals and objectives, enabling appropriate investment from the management company, and setting up organizational structures that reflect both immediate and future needs. These structures will align with the group’s overall operating framework, providing corporate services to Wolfenburg Roofing and other assets managed by the company. Additionally, you will implement an HR system to centralize essential data, monitor performance, and support employee retention, ensuring a workplace environment that values emotional well-being and professional growth.
