Summary of the Role

As Cohen & Cohen continues on a path of evolution, the business is excited to introduce a new impactful role of General Manager. Reporting directly to the President, this leadership position will play a crucial role in elevating the core strengths of the business.

The General Manager will be instrumental in capitalizing on the foundation that sets Cohen & Cohen apart. This includes enhancing the exterior showroom and product showcase, ensuring that it continues to be a captivating space that reflects the quality and diversity of their offerings. You will be tasked with optimizing in-stock inventory levels, ensuring they are well-positioned to meet the demands of their diverse clientele. Central to the company’s success is their unwavering commitment to customer centricity, to which you will be entrusted with further strengthening and expanding this aspect of the business.

In a competitive market, you will be involved in strategies to not only compete but also expand client base and increase average project spend. This will encompass strategic engagement with architects and designers, tapping into valuable networks to foster relationships that drive business growth. You will be a key player in identifying opportunities, negotiating partnerships, and ensuring that Cohen & Cohen remains at the forefront of the industry.

Equally important is the establishment of a robust operational structure under the guidance of the GM. This involves creating the framework for performance management, providing a clear path for team development, and fostering a culture of progression for staff. The GM will be pivotal in creating an environment that will attract talent in the future but also nurtures the skills and ambitions of the existing team, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing workforce.

Finally, it is crucial to note that the peak season (Mar-Nov) is particularly demanding, resembling 12 months of work condensed into 9. Winter presents a unique opportunity for reorganization, training, and exploration of new products. Your role will be central in navigating the seasonality of the business, ensuring strategies and performance indicators are in place to maximize productivity during the critical months and utilize winter for essential preparatory activities.
