Position: Financial Controller
Located just 20 minutes north of downtown Ottawa, in the scenic Gatineau Hills of Cantley, Quebec, Mont Cascades is a multi-faceted resort that has established itself as a premier family destination.
Mont Cascades is the go-to family ski resort in the National Capital Region. Boasting 21 runs, including 16 for night skiing, 4 chairlifts and 2 carpet lifts, the resort caters to skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels, providing them with a fantastic winter sports experience. To further enhance the skiing and snowboarding opportunities, Mont Cascades offers a comprehensive snow school program, including the renowned Nancy Greene racing program, a race club, private lessons, seasonal programs, and holiday camps. The construction of Mont Cascade’s new ski lodge has enhanced the customer experience by providing state-of-the-art facilities, a large and bright dining room and a convenient location steps away from the learning area and main chairlift.
In addition to its renowned ski operations, the resort offers a family-friendly waterpark that first opened its doors in 1992 and has since evolved to offer a thrilling array of high-capacity water slides and attractions, along with spacious picnic areas and multiple food and beverage options.

Skills & Experience
Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need at least five years of progressive accounting experience, including two or more years at a senior level.
Background
You possess an understanding of accounting principles, enabling you to navigate the complexities of managing capital projects in industries such as hospitality, tourism, and/or recreational facilities.
Bilingual
An understanding of both official languages is required for effective communication with staff and clients, as well as for understanding Quebec's accounting laws and regulations.
Financial Skills
An essential part of your skill set is the ability to prepare accurate financial statements and present meaningful reports to senior management.
Proven Track Record
You have proven experience in managing competing priorities and pivoting effectively in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
Interpersonal Skills
In addition to your critical thinking abilities, you possess exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to build connections with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
Summary of the Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening Mont Cascades financial operations and driving its expansion. As the cornerstone of the finance function, you will play a strategic role in overseeing budget management, performance analysis, and optimizing accounting processes.
Your mission will be to evolve the existing structures and systems to support the organization’s evolving vision while enhancing financial planning, forecasting and capital planning. Initially, you will work independently in this department, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of current systems and processes as you manage the accounts receivable, payables, payroll services, and other daily accounting tasks. This hands-on approach will provide you valuable insight to guide your decisions as you build and expand the accounting function.
As the Financial Controller, you will ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements, reviewing for the accuracy and timeliness of all financial information. You will play a critical role in the organization’s operational success by contributing to capital planning, forecasting,
and budgeting for new initiatives—directly influencing the growth and long-term vision of Mont Cascades.
