Director, IT & Facilities @ Mental Health Commission of Canada

Company: Mental Health Commission of Canada

Position: Director, IT & Facilities

The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising national awareness of mental health issues and improving health and social outcomes for individuals living with mental illness. Recognized as a leader both nationally and internationally, the Commission builds on its existing work and core mandate, guided by Changing Directions Changing Lives: The Mental Health Strategy for Canada. Its focus areas include substance use, suicide prevention, population-based initiatives, and engagement. This prioritization aims to enhance the Commission’s effectiveness in fulfilling its mandate and achieving measurable impacts for individuals with mental illness, as well as their families and caregivers.

The MHCC was established to address critical gaps in mental health care and serves as a trusted resource for governments, communities, and individuals. By fostering partnerships, promoting evidence-based practices, and enhancing public awareness, the Commission plays a crucial role in reducing stigma and improving the mental health landscape across Canada. The organization operates through two interconnected areas of focus: Opening Minds, its social enterprise arm, which aims to reduce stigma and improve mental health awareness via innovative programs and partnerships; and its charitable side, which is dedicated to raising funds and aligning resources to support its mission. Together, these streams empower the MHCC to drive systemic change and provide direct, tangible support to individuals and communities nationwide.
