Summary of the Role

As the Civil Engineering Studio Lead at LRL, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technologists, and project managers. Your role is pivotal in steering the team towards successful project execution and aligning departmental goals with strategy.

You’re a natural leader with excellent communication abilities, and a passion for mentoring junior staff. This position requires someone technically proficient with a history in design and a deep understanding of the local industry. You should be agile, willing to take on new challenges, and capable of stepping into design work when necessary.

In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, and delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects. This includes ensuring compliance with local design guidelines and provincial regulations, as well as performing technical analyses and reviewing engineering drawings. Your responsibilities will include managing departmental resources, schedules, and priorities to ensure successful project execution and workload balancing.

Client and stakeholder engagement is crucial. You will act as a senior point of contact for clients, municipalities, and reviewing agencies, building and sustaining long-term relationships. Supporting business development initiatives, including proposal writing and project pursuit strategies, will also be key aspects of your role. Financial management responsibilities include overseeing project budgets, scopes, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered profitably and on schedule.
