Laura Reinsborough appointed Riverkeeper & CEO at Ottawa Riverkeeper

Keynote Search is pleased to announce that after an extensive nation-wide search, Laura Reinsborough is appointed as Riverkeeper & CEO for Ottawa Riverkeeper.
Laura will join the organization at a pivotal and exciting time. This year marks the non-profit organization’s 20th Anniversary. They will build on our two decades of work in engaging and educating the diverse and passionate communities who rely on the Ottawa River watershed for their health and well-being. With the adoption of a new three-year strategic plan in 2021, Ottawa Riverkeeper is primed to take on the many challenges and opportunities facing our watershed.

Laura is a dedicated environmentalist and an expert in non-profit organizational development. She has a strong track record of driving NGOs and charities through crucial moments of growth. As the founder of Not Far From The Tree, she built the organization from scratch to shape a vision of Toronto as an urban orchard. Most recently she was Director of Food For All New Brunswick, which saw significant growth and success under her leadership. Laura has received numerous awards and accolades for her work on environmental issues, such as the Vital People Award from the Toronto Foundation and the Gaia Award from the WIFTS Foundation.

Ottawa Riverkeeper’s mission continues to be to inspire cooperative action focused toward a healthy watershed for all generations and all species. With her history of collaborative growth and organizational sustainability, Laura is thrilled to continue this mission as they embark on new initiatives, such as the organization’s long held dream to establish “River House”, a future home for Ottawa Riverkeeper on the Ottawa River and a vibrant new location for public river access, engagement, and education about our incredible Ottawa River watershed.
