Summary of the Role
As part of the Leadership Team, reporting to the President, the Director of Engineering is a high-impact role designed to provide steady, consistent direction to the department that serves as the technical engine of the sales process. As the Director, you will lead a growing team of Energy Solution Designers and Quality Managers tasked with delivering the audits, proposals, and subsidy management that allow the Sales team to present winning solutions to customers. In this capacity, you are a strategic partner acting as the linchpin that ensures the transition from opportunity identification to a high-accuracy technical proposal is seamless and timely.
In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between sophisticated engineering practices and business strategy. Your primary mandate is to take the established workflow processes and enhance them, while simultaneously developing the new systems required for the emerging EV, Solar PV, and electrical services. By centralizing and optimizing these workflows, you will ensure that the engineering solutions are not only technically sound but financially optimized, delivering measurable increases in accuracy that reduce the margin of error and drive significant value for the clients.
Beyond technical oversight, you are responsible for the ongoing development of your team and the implementation of the tools required to make the department run with total confidence. You will oversee the effective deployment and optimization of technology—including AI and process automation—to support both internal functions and customer outcomes. While you do not oversee the final delivery of projects, your department provides the essential support to Operations to ensure field success. Ultimately, your leadership will turn the engineering department into a reliable driver for growth, ensuring that as the organization expands nationally, every project delivered will further cement their reputation for technical excellence in Sustainable Energy Management.
