Since opening its first property in 2006, our client shows no signs of slowing growth. They are currently in the development of 18 new properties – comprising of 4.1 million square feet in Ontario. These properties are part of their 6-year, 10 million square foot expansion that will see 80 new properties added in Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area by 2025. Skills & Experience

Strong Communicator Effective communication experience with GCs, field staff, trades, contractors & management
Onsite Expertise Work closely with the leadership team, providing recommendations on external partners and new methodologies.
Project Manager Experience Thorough understanding of the construction process and industry best practices.
Operational Skills Technically astute and a strategic thinker, while being operationally hands-on with the team.
Management Experience 5 years experience managing small to mid-sized commercial/industrial experience.
Education College diploma or University degree in a construction related field (building science, construction management, civil engineering).

Summary of Role

The Project Manager plans, directs, manages and provides oversight of assigned construction projects. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the company's goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed schedule and budget parameters in accordance with all building and safety codes. The Project Manager effectively communicates with general contractors, field staff, trades, contractors and management using judgement and latitude in performing job duties with minimal to moderate supervision.

On a day-to-day basis the Project Manager will oversee the projects in construction phases; coordinate and make recommendations regarding the status of work; and provide a detailed review to leadership. As the project lead you will advise, consult, lead and provide feedback on the development of construction procurement documents, including: plans, construction phase consulting services, and general contractor responsibilities.

Your strong attention to detail allows you to assist in the development of project procurement documents, review contractor requests, provide prompt responses to keep projects on schedule and create regular detailed reporting metrics. You will manage project budgets in an effective and efficient manner with oversight of resource allocation. You will produce project status completion statistics to assist in the planning and forecasting of future needs..
