Skills & Experience

Experience You have a minimum of 7 years of estimation experience, having overseen a progressive range of project sizes and complexities.
Background You have an extensive background in the environmental and abatement industry, either through education or relevant experience.
Deep Understanding An ability to understand designated substance reports and utilize this documentation in your estimates are key skills that this role demands.
Technology Enabled Your understanding of the different estimation software will ease your transition into this tech savvy environment - knowledge of Planswift is an asset.
Strong Communicator You are a responsive communicator who can bridge the gap between various internal stakeholders.
Leadership You have previous experience leading teams, developing junior staff and mentoring others.

Summary of the Role

Reporting into the Vice President and Area Manager in Toronto, the Senior Estimator will play a key role in Inflector’s vigorous bid-win cycle.

Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently lead your team through the completion of a bid process in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This includes assembling accurate, well-organized estimates on time, with materials and equipment required for job completion while maintaining databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs. Through your role, you will be coordinating with engineers, project managers, as well as other project team members to resolve any technical issues throughout the planning and development, negotiation, and contract execution. Throughout the project, you will continue to monitor its success, noting potential challenges while building relationships with the sub-trades for future opportunities. You will distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate any risk within the bid price.

This is a leadership role that will outline and manage the project work scope, and the team’s key deliverables. You will be responsible for efficiently leading your team
through the completion of any given bid process inside of Inflector’s fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role is unique as you will have the opportunity to manage and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders. On a daily basis, you will be overseeing subcontractors, liaising with clients and collaborating with internal team members..
