Skills & Experience

Communication You not only possess strong communication skills, written and oral, in both official languages, you also understand the importance of consistent and timely communication within a team.
Education Completed education in a relevant field and most likely have a background in mechanical engineering, or a relevant degree in technology of building mechanics or electronic or computerized systems.
Experience Two to five years of experience in the management of complex, multi-million dollar construction projects.
PMP You must have a valid driver’s license and either be PMP certified or willing to become certified after joining Lar-Mex.

Summary of Role

Lar-Mex is currently searching for an experienced Project Manager to help elevate its continued growth. You will be the principal person responsible for the overall project management function by leadership and coordination of staff and the full management of various projects.

You will have oversight of the approval and management of the project’s scope of work, schedule and budget within your specific area of expertise. You will determine the resources required to complete the project, including the materials, labour, tools and equipment required. You will develop a schedule for project completion, effectively allocating the appropriate resources to each activity. To ensure the successful completion of the project, you will monitor the progress and adjust when necessary. You will also be responsible for reviewing contractor quotes to ensure that fair and reasonable pricing is being achieved, and you will monitor and approve project plans, budgeted expenditures and work hours. You will manage and issue contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and warranty letters as mandated. You will identify and mitigate project risk, manage and follow up on Change Orders and Request for Information (RFI) processes. As a General Contractor, you will also monitor the subcontractors to ensure guidelines are maintained. Through all of this, you will work to ensure project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the highest level of quality.

As a leader in your group, you will be given the opportunity to manage all project staff, supervise and lead them in the delivery of projects. In doing so, you will be expected to monitor and review the quality of work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets all project standards. You will meet PMO resource objectives by recruiting, coaching and retaining good employees. Moreover, you will set up all files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured. It is imperative that you are consistently communicating the risks and outcomes to all levels of the project because efficient communication is essential to the success of this role.

You will assist in responding to Requests for Proposal (RFP), RFI’s, Pre-Qualifications and Tenders as required, and ensure substantial completion certifications and all required project close out documents are obtained, approved, available and incorporated in the O&M Manual. In all your work, you will ensure that the projects you are managing adhere to the Lar-Mex’s core values and guidelines..
