Skills & Experience

Natural Leadership Capabilities You are both a good coach and mentor, with the ability to bring people together, coordinate them and harness their strengths.
Bilingual You possess strong communication skills, written and oral, in both French and English.
Efficient You know how to organize and manage your time effectively, can anticipate work needs, allowing you to follow through on a given task with minimal direction.
Experience Two to five years of experience managing construction resources on large, complex projects. You also have mechanical contracting experience, the applicable technical certifications as well as experience on industrial projects.

Summary of Role

Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, the Industrial Foreman’s principal responsibilities are to plan, implement and monitor various resources while on the job site.

As Lar-Mex continues to take on more complex projects within the Ottawa and Gatineau Regions, they are searching for an Industrial Foreman who can utilize their leadership capabilities to coach and mentor their team while leveraging their technical expertise. You will act as the main point of reference for both workers and supervisors.

Specifically, you will coordinate construction work according to the priorities and plans of any given project. You will produce schedules and monitor the expectations of your team, including the allocation of general and daily responsibilities on site. You will also be given the opportunity to supervise and train your workers and tradespeople, with the goal of ensuring manpower and resources are adequately available. As with all on-site construction roles, health and safety is a large portion of your mandate and it is imperative that you are able to work within the COVID-19 regulations. You will supervise the use of any heavy machinery and equipment on site, and guarantee that all safety precautions and quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to conduct weekly toolbox talks and promote a positive culture of health and safety.

Finally, you will work with the Buyer to monitor expenditures and ensure they remain within budget, resolving any problems as they arise. You will act as a team player and report on progress to your fellow managers, engineers and team members as required..
